The Network has brought yet another first to Hawk Nation - our initial live broadcast of Hawks Wrestling, something that was a long time coming and well-deserved, as Coach Hennesey's crew has been nothing short of dominant on the state wrestling scene for the better part of the past three seasons. During that time, the school that has been our biggest rival - as least as far as strength of program is concerned - is the Cumberland Clippers, and in each of the past two seasons, we've gone head-to-head with the blue-and-white at the end of the schedule, matches that carries significant weight (no pun intended) as the states approached.
In each of those late-season match-ups, our guys have, literally and figuratively, thrown the Clippers to the mat.
This past Wednesday night, in a match broadcast live right here on The Network, the two-time defending state champion Hawks crushed the Clippers, 54-9. The Hawks only suffered a loss in an individual match when Cumberland's Nate Skawinski won by forfeit in the 182 weight class.

Our guys now head into the states with their undefeated slate intact and as the the #1 seed. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, the Hawks will be raising a thrid consecutive banner to the rafters.
