The coverage of Hawks’ sports on The Network is back for another stellar year, and we’ll turn our spotlight first onto our cross-country team, which is coming off its sixth straight state title and looks to capture a seventh this year. The season kicked off with some solid performances in both the Hird and Freshman races in last Saturday's Injury Fund Race in Burrillville.

The Hawks soared to first place as a team in the Hird race, took the top 11 places in the entire field (led by Avery Ingegneri and Jonathan Celico), and also had 19 of the top 40 runners cross the tape first. In the Freshman race, the Hawks took second place as a team with an average time of 15:59.43. The top five ninth graders were Alex Mansour, Gavin Pandolfini, Harry Antone, Kirk Steele, and Dylan Disano.

The Hawks' first League Match is on Monday September 15 at 4pm, at Goddard Park in East Greenwich against Johnston and Juanita Sanchez.
